June 26, 20178 yr I spent a good number of hours and wrote this all today. There was a reddit composition challenge for June to write a 2 part invention and I'm a big fan of Bach and developing my faculties in such a way so I gave it a try. Given how much I just winged it and went straight forward with the first subject and so on that I came up with, it pulled together nicely I think.
June 26, 20178 yr I think you develop the theme nicely, and it's interesting enough to listen through. If you were going for something in the style of Bach you might not want to make those big melodic jumps, instead keep the notes of the melody closer to one another.
June 26, 20178 yr At 0:39 I feel like it went two ways, then recombined later on. If I focus on either, the other one disturbs me, they don't really work well with each other according to my ear. Everything else, very fine, just a bit too fast to catch the melody and enjoy it, but that's just me. Edited June 26, 20178 yr by Vadrif D. Zobrist
