I am writing music for our school. We are participating in the Grampian's Children's Book Awards and my group have asked me to write some music. This is just the first draft, any criticisms welcome!

I guess the ending isn’t drafted yet … . The theme is very memorable, the first few instances are probably a bit blocky (e.g. m. 13-28), but OTOH, I do not know the capabilities of your players. It is probably wise to keep things easily playable for your classmates, so there is that. The Alberti bass (m. 29ff.) is on the fast side, so I hope the chosen player is able to pull it off. Otherwise, just make it six quavers instead of twelve semiquavers, and you’re good.

Thank you for this review. In the final version, I will just use the mp3 file. I think I will record this as well but I will need to check individual parts.

I found the song to be extremely enjoyable, and very catchy. I listened quite a few times, it's extremely bright and well written, it flows beautifully.
