This is my first composition I wanted to put on here, and my first one I will count (All the others were either practice, arrangements, or incomplete and I wasn't comfortable counting them).

So I guess this my Op. 1!

It is for Flute, Clarinet in Bb, and Trumpet in Bb.

It is very short, but I feel it's pretty okay for me atleast.

I tried to make the trumpet stand out so I put the trumpet melody in Bb first, then Eb, then in G twice. For the final trumpet melody, I made the Clarinet and Flute switch from F to G major for a nice ending.

It's really cool that you've finished your first composition!

Don't worry about the length; some of the best pieces are short and sweet. I liked it, and it's very impressive for the first piece you are counting.

What does the title mean?

Thanks!

I called It Unanswered because the Trumpet is asking a question that the woodwinds can't answer until the end.

I think I subconsciously took some inspiration from Charles Ives's The Unanswered Question when I thought of making the piece and the name, now that I think about it.

Thanks for asking! 🙂

I had completely forgotten about The Unanswered Question! I think the concept of that piece is really profound, and I can see how one could be affected by it like you have been. And I like the way  you’ve kind of adapted that by changing the key of each melody. Keep writing so I can keep listening 🙂
