Left Unexplained
what is an atonal series? It's interesting, well thought out, however the atonality isn't the kind I really like (I understand that's not really the point of your piece). An atonal series is a disposition of the 12 pitches in a particular order, which is te base for atonal composition. In this piece, the starting point is a tone row of this kind, but it's not an atonal composition, strictly.
jawoodruff
I love the tension and resolution throughout this piece. I also love the tonal framework you set up -pretty clever. I'd love to see more of these. I spend a great deal of time composing these type of pieces -as a way to hone my own harmonic and melodic language. It's an awesomely effective exercise towards this. Keep up the good work!
