January 7, 20206 yr String suspensions are so beautiful and lush. I love the quiet interplay around 0:40. This is very gorgeous. Nice work ๐

January 8, 20206 yr Gorgeous harmonies that go to unexpected places. I love the dissonance in the low-mid strings at 1:29 and again at 1:40! One small critique is that I wish there were fewer voices playing the third ofย the final chord. It soundsย a bit off balance to me.ย

Yes I would agree in retrospect, maybe I could have added more tonics or fifths in the orchestration. Also I think the lower 3rd on the violas is slightly out if tune which kind of brings the problem into closer view.
January 18, 20206 yr Some of it reminds me of Mahler's Das Lied von der Erdeย "Der Abschied" Try 11:40 If you want to ever expand this (which I would really enjoy seeing), I would recommend decreasing the density of the orchestration, so that it sounds lighter, and that in important moments the listener can have a display of the power the orchestra.
