Just a little thing I put together. Hope you all are doing fine during this extra pandemic-y time.

Really cool stuff man.

I like how the bass line starts without letting too much of the harmony to show through and then is filled by the other instruments later.

The interlude is also awesome. The microtonal (or perhaps simply out of tune) instruments give a nice atmosphere to the whole thing.

Great job

Had a strange bit of immediate subversion with the chromaticism in the melody quickly replaced by diatonism, not returning until the figure repeats.

Transition to the second part of the song is my favorite bit, though it would have been a good time for a brief rhythmic shift just for variety.

Strings feel a little bit underwhelming for the insistence on a single interval, but the suspension "chain" makes it a bit better.

Interesting little creation. Nice work.

Hey this is pretty cool!  This is totally a unique style.  I wish I could understand what was said at 1:08.  I had to put on headphones to be able to hear the bass properly.  I like the touch of pizzicato and creepy sound effects in the background.  Not really sure how useful a review of this piece is coming from me LoL but there it is.  Nice job!

EDIT:  I now understand that those lyrics at 1:08 say "What's down the hole?"  I don't know how I didn't get that the first time LoL

Man, the harmonies and harmonic textures around 1:13 are super cool! It reminded me a bit of one of my favourite videogame OSTs. This piece to me more specific (not sure why because they aren't too alike now that I notice):

ugh, I haven't listened to this since I posted it, and it makes me cringe haha. Glad you dig it, but the mixing is so down the center when I hear it. i love videogame OST's, especially ones that paint a dark atmosphere rather than stand in line for the next boots and cats beat to qualify for a new meme. Thanks for checking it out!

Did you check the OST of Rain World? Any track you enjoyed a lot?

Hey Ivan

Sorry, for some reason just saw this 😕

I was going to check out the OST, but I went down a rabbit hole of watching a bit of gameplay. This game looks awesome! I really like the dark yet beautiful atmosphere. I haven't played it myself, but I want to try it out. I really like the whole ecosystem type of game, where you're just exploring and trying to survive. From the videos I watched, I'm really impressed with the sense of AI that's involved in everything that's trying to eat you and stop your progress. I'm a big fan of dystopian novels/movies, so this seems right up my alley. Thanks for making it known to me!

In terms of the tracks I liked, Bio-engineering, the various "threat" tracks, and Deep Energy stood out, but in general I like the overall vibe of the soundtrack. I love ambient textures over cool rhythms, even when they don't seem to mix at first. In fact, at some point I'm going to write an instrumental metal album that uses this style as a core property of it.

This is probably not your style, but I've been really inspired by this band that uses this method as a foundation to their music, particularly this track, and especially the section at 1:40:

BTW, this is one of the coolest album covers I've ever seen!
