July 31, 20205 yr Made an invention in F major. its heavily inspired by Bachs invention with the same name. Would love some feedback so I could improve and grow as a composer! The score is shown in the youtube video, but if you would really like the complete score, a link is in the youtube description youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNhAO4RuTgw Edited July 31, 20205 yr by Jacob Hem
July 31, 20205 yr Very nice, clearly can hear the Bach inspiration. My only critique is that the ending was a little abrupt with just the final chord. I personally would have ended it with a small flourish breaking up the chord.
August 1, 20205 yr Wow, It's not easy to write interesting counterpoint for only two parts, but that's so beautifull. I agree the final is to abrubt. I would add a 2 beat perfect cadence on the last with some ritardando and fall on the tonic chord on the 3rd beat.
August 5, 20205 yr Sounds like Bach. Hopefully you've learned a lot from your studies with his music. Feel free to share your thoughts on others' works, you'll find more feedback!
