September 10, 200619 yr This was the very first piece I did that involved midi instruments, and I really had no clue what I was doing, but it turned out fine. The bridge needs a little work, though. Any suggestions are welcome! ...Once again with pizzacato strings. My favorite midi instrument:D ~Kal _Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, the ending is supposed to fade out. Back then, I didn't know midi could do that. I didn't even know what midi was... Cosmos.MID
September 10, 200619 yr It's certainly interesting; sounds like incidental music to me. I really like your use of percussion, it's wonderful. The piece itself is otherwise fairly simplistic but there's somehow just enough variety to keep my attention so good work. For a first piece with MIDI instruments, this is very nice. Good work! :(
September 10, 200619 yr If Chrono Trigger, Brazil, and Final Fantasy 7 got together and had some kind of strange intercontinental sexual encounter, this would be part of the soundtrack. That's a good thing, I should say. It makes one's head bob from side to side. Very sexy for MIDI, too. Man, this is cool.
September 11, 200619 yr Author If Chrono Trigger, Brazil, and Final Fantasy 7 got together and had some kind of strange intercontinental sexual encounter, this would be part of the soundtrack. :D Yeah Songjun, when I was writing this is I was aiming towards a more video game setting. Thanks for the reviews, guys! ~Kal
September 29, 200619 yr Wow, I'm listenning to it now, and yes, I have nothing but praise. To be honest though, this isn't the kind of music I'm much good at judging.
September 29, 200619 yr Cool, I like the theme. Is it just me or does this piece have a very distant japanese feel to it. It also sounds like the music for the end credits, or theme song for a game.
October 3, 200619 yr Is that a pizzacatto strings I hear in the background? Man, love this song. The blend is good, so much different sounds yet they all work nicely together. You're an awsome composer!
October 4, 200619 yr This is sounds like really good game music, although it seems too active to give to be mystical enough to describe the cosmos. Sounds like a boss battle (lol). Anyways this is amazing.
October 9, 200619 yr Sounds like song for Prince of Persia, somehow. Well it is ok, Like Marius said it is simplistic and has just enough for one to carry on listening. Now I know why I thought of Prince of Persia, well it is the way you use the percussion and the way the instr. harmonize together. And you give it an extra touch with some tensional melody.
October 12, 200619 yr I Fancy Cosmos, especially that 3 beat pickup in toss between sections... yeah the bridge is a little Poly something?
October 12, 200619 yr Author Catchy. Indeed. I Fancy Cosmos, especially that 3 beat pickup in toss between sections... yeah the bridge is a little Poly something? I don't quite get what you mean. Basically it was a bunch of ideas haphazardly slapped together, and after three years I still haven't found anything to replace it with. ~Kal
October 13, 200619 yr What program did you make this with? I agree the bridge interupts the piece, but the rest of it is so good yo forget about it anyway.
October 13, 200619 yr Author I wrote it with Finale Notepad '05, but I used someone elses midi file and just cleared out all of the notes and wrote my own song. Which explains the odd choice of instruments. Up untill then, I had never heard of a sitar, pizzacatto strings, a calliope, or many other instruments. ~Kal
