A Stroll In Wonderland

A piece about a walk in a wondrous land.

No wonder this is short what with the fast tempo and quick flurry of activity being hard to sustain for very long.  Despite not being particularly tuneful, there is however a certain motivic logic to this composition.  Although you obviously intended this to stand on it's own, if you have any possible intention of continuing this further (which I guess is kinda difficult what with how final it sounds after that tritone substituted authentic cadence you put at the end) I'd suggest coming up with some kind of contrasting section in a different key (possibly the IV) and at a slower tempo to give the listener a break from the breakneck speed of the beginning section.  Also, try to make the tempo closer to andante (80 - 110 bpm) which is closer to a walking tempo if you actually intend this to imitate a stroll.  It does however sound like your typical brand of magical and wondrous as you described.  It's thoroughly enjoyable.  Looking forward to more miniatures in this style which I think you said you intended on composing more of?  Well done!

As I've told you many times before, I love your style. It's very unique, a language that's very much your own. 

What are your plans for this? As a stand alone piece, I could see this being injected into a cinematic scene, like the pathway down a magical rabbit hole or the time it takes to zip through a worm hole. As Peter mentioned, I don't see this one as a stroll, but rather the entrance to wonderland. Maybe write your next piano miniature as a continuation at a slower tempo, possibly even using rhythmic leitmotifs from this one. I just think it would serve you well as a composer to keep working on expansion; you always come up with awesome ideas, but the next step would be using devices in your tool kit to either write contrasting sections, developing your ideas further with adhering to a certain form, or if you like it the way it is, keep writing miniatures that go along with this one. 

I've heard so much hip hop from you lately that I forgot how great your piano works are...keep them coming!

Whoaa! This is an amazing short piece! The harmony and the motific creativity is just spot on

sorry for the delay! Sick. I do intend on making this a part of a little suite, different things they encounter on the walk. Thanks man.

Piano suite about their adventures on their walk. You're right, I do need to keep going. If I need help I will ask the forum for it. I can do it.

I totaly agree with @Thatguy v2.0, expand the stuff your write! Form is so crucial for a work to stand on its own. Not investing the time into making sure the form works is like trying to make a sandwich but forgetting to buy bread. You already got the material, so it shouldn't be too hard taking the next step. And even if it is, it'll be worth it :)

Please buy that bread.

my fear has a grip on me man. I'm writing a series of interconnected miniatures to try and idk rectify the problem in my own way, dipping my toes into the proverbial waters.
