"My feet couldn't stop tapping"

an interesting shower thought piece that i came up with while sick with covid last june. this is the only piece i've done in this style, and it's definitely very different than anything else i've done before.

I have always found this style very funny and interesting. This one meets its expetations.

Wow, you indeed have the potential to become a ragtime composer! The main theme is enjoyable and catchy - probably my favourite part of this piece.

Dear @mossy84,

It's for sure a funny ragtime! I love the overall A-B-A-B and find the reprise A reappears in G sharp minor very funny! It's just a liitle bit difficult to play the left hand under this tempo, but it's very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing!

Nice job!  I like this kind of writing and have tried to write a few rags myself.  Despite this not being quite as serious of a piece as I guess you'd normally write, I like that you still created a macro-tonal plan for the form of this piece which gave it structure and re-listening potential (and musical satisfaction).  Thanks for sharing!

I absolutely love rag time music. It's how I started off my piano playing hobby, and even my early compositions. Scott Joplin was my musical hero at the time! So I had to chime in here and commend you for such fun music. When I start moving my foot to the beat, you know things are getting serious.

Love love love the transition of your theme from major to minor, very beautiful touch there. If there was just one criticism I had to offer, it may have to do with the tempo of your piece. Generally ragtime music is played at a slower pace, and I do think this "funny rag" will have a chance to shine some more if the tempo was slowed down, even if just a bit. Give it a shot, see how it sounds.

here you go

That's much better in my opinion, and such a simple tweak. Tempo is a funny thing. It can completely change the mood of a piece. Sometimes there are pieces that are too slow, in which I feel should be sped up. In other instances, such as this one, it just had to be slowed down, and it makes all the difference since it accents the style!

Amazing!!!!

This is just so much fun. Brilliant! I second Chopin's opinion, the slower tempo works really well.
