Someone posted (I believe it was Letehn) on the Squaresound forums, where I frequent, about this site, so I checked it out. I haven't been too active here, but I hope to change that.

I was searching google for "music forums" and stumbled across this site on page 4.

Have to say I stopped searching when I found this place.

D.

I was dragged to it. And I shall not help you improve yourself, on the principle that you ought to be able to yourself.

I typed in google: "young composers" lol... then i saw, in the title... "Young Composers"... i figured that pretty much was what i was looking for :whistling:

I saw a person in my class go to this forum, looked interesting and decided to check it out.

Wouldn't it be amusing if someone actually found this site through a link to this exact thread? :P

Yeah. Looking for information about how to find Young Composers.

That'd be akin to looking up 'dictionary' in the dictionary, I think...

Type How to find young composers into Google.

This thread is the first hit. How's that for meta-ness?

Heh. Talk about finding the right question to ask for it. 42.

Like nintenboy, I found this forum through Letehn. Thanks, buddy! I wasn't very active at first, but lately I've been posting a lot more, even chatting in that nifty shout window. Mostly, I've been seen in the Piano Music critique forum, the Chamber Music critique forum, the Advice forum, and this one.

Hmm.. After Mozart's birthday, we listened to some of his music in class and I decided to improve my own after so many years. That is when I 'googled' this on the internet=)

I was trying to learn 12-tone serialism, and googled "12-tone row," and this was the first listing. The article it led to was really helpful, and so I just signed on.

January 2, 2006 MSN search. Keywords used...composers, music posting, shared music...things along those lines, but do not remember which worked. You will be happy to know, on this particular search, YC was the only listed with MSN ;)

I found this forums through spc1st on Ichigo's Forums. Ichigo's forums is another forum where they have 1 forum devoted to composing, and it was the first only one I could find at first. This site is more extensive, though.

Google... i think it was something like "young composers getting noticed" or something like that.

Google search, "composer forum"

I googled a search to see if Nico had a web site devoted to hiim and then I found this site. I came hear all because I was a huge fan of Nico's music. I signed on because I thought it would be awesome to get to talk to someone so young that could composer so well. I thought we could become friends and if all worked well in the end I could eventually meet him. I never intended to even post a single composition or anything really. I just gradually worked into that.

google need i say more?
