January 10, 200719 yr Author Um, guys... umm.... I have something to confess... ShowcaseYourMusic.com is my site. So what is wrong with it? I thought I made a good site. I am not charging anything, and giving a good opportunity for musicians to get discovered. What don't you like? Be honest. I can take it, and I want to hear because I want to fix it.
January 10, 200719 yr for me, it looks just like a youtube for music-related videos only. Plus, I think you should check your wording with various things. E.g., "ShowcaseYourMusic.com is 100% FREE THOUSANDS OF INDUSRTY HITS DAILY!", apart from spelling "INDUSTRY" correctly, I think that this sounds rather like a spam-site advertisement than a real-site. If it's free, you don't have to just bugger and hit that word EVERYWHERE. This makes people suspicious. Just mention it somewhere in your About page or something like that, or when they go to register. Make the front page interesting enough, so that someone goes to the registration. If you don't get them to register, you've failed, and I think that all these spam-like features your front page has is not helping... Just my blunt and honest reply. If you need any help or ideas concerning looks or design, please feel free to ask me, I'd be more than glad to help :) Take care :D
January 10, 200719 yr Author Thanks jujimufu! I think you have some great points. The site is free, but I don't think we have to say it so much. I will be reworking a lot of the text, and feel. What about you guys, Mark and Bob, you laugh, but what do you think? How could we make it better. I really want a place where musicians can go upload their work and let it be discovered. What should we do different on the site?
