March 14, 200917 yr Author As you can see, we had this discussion before. I am convinced there is absolutely no way we can make the chatrooms work with the shoutbox readily available. That's why I never bothered to fix the chatroom skins, although the chatroom is an awesome feature. Popular demand states they want the shoutbox to remain intact, so for now, I can't really do much. Most people are very resistant to change :P I am not even sure the chat schedules will work.
March 15, 200917 yr In all honesty, I doubt they will. We had schedueld chat times before and it worked... for about two months. ...as much as i hate to say it.... why not have a trial run of removing the shoutbox to encourage chat room activity? Maybe then, even if you bring the box back, people will use it. :huh:

March 15, 200917 yr At least put a big ... well, not BIG, but ... obvious link perhaps ON the Shoutbox, between "Shoutbox (Hide/Show)" and "View Archived Shouts", right there in the middle. Maybe even (read: not necessarily) set off in a different colour. Yeller? Having a link to the Chatroom IN the Shoutbox would surely help. Also... is there any chance the Chatroom could either be made smaller or of variable height? I hate how tall it is... I have to scroll up and down to type, see the most recent post, and what users are in what rooms... it's VERY annoying. And before you ask, yes I have my screen to max resolution. :P

Well... you can use me as a meat-sheild to fend off the angry mob... :rolleyes: Okay, so removing the box even temporarily would be like removing the FFA all over again but I like the idea of a more visible link to the chatroom; It just took me almost a minute to find a link to it. Is there any way you could link the two chat programs? Replace the shoutbox with a mini-version of the global chatroom so that whatever happens in one happens in the other? Or have at least a view window into the global chatroom so that users could see the convo in there and go to it?
