Just compose!!! All the arrangements for posting submissions will be made in due time! We actually know what we're doing. (sometimes)

Keep an eye on this forum.

Hehe, well if I don't, then at least you do. :)

Like Anders said, rolifer, if you started your piece after you signed up (or indeed after the competition start date), it's good to go.

:) apologies.

Is the judges position still open?? If so I want to be one...... ^_^ Never done this before though........

If you'd post something indicative of your ability as a composer, then the staff could decide if you are fit to be a judge - as it is now it doesnt seem like you have any music posted. :)

o0o0o0o0o0o.........................so that's how it works................ ^_^

May be some other time then.

Kontakt silver does not come with a single cello patch. just ensembles. Unless there is another way this is all I have available.

Does Kontakt have any other solo strings? If it does, try solo violin or viola or even fiddle, whatever it has, see if it sounds any better.

All the string patches are ensembles. It sounds good as it is, but I want to make sure the judges understand that this is all I have available.

here is a link to it.

The competition is now closed for participants. We still need judges, though.

Well, it doesn't look like I will be able to finish my piece, so can I be a judge?

However, if I can finish my piece by the deadline, can I still enter and not be a judge?

I've put you down as a judge. It would be preferable for you not to suddenly turn around and announce your intent to enter as a contestant after all.

As of now, I'll assume you're committed to being a judge. If you change your mind, just indicate as such in a reply to this thread.

Hmm... Why not wait until you're absolutely certain of not being able to make it in time? The positions for judges won't be filled anytime soon, I imagine.

Ok, sure.

If you'd still like more judges, I also volunteer. I won't have as much time this month as I originally imagined, so I don't think I'd be able to submit an entry anyway. But I'm sure I can help with the judging, if you'll have me. :w00t:

Looks like I'm not going to finish it(I'm going away soon...), so I'll be a judge. Although, if you only get a tiny amount of entrys, like the symphonic competition, I could probaly finish it if you gave a bit more time...

But that isn't going to happen, looking at the number of participants...:w00t:

I would like to enter the contest

You're too late, I'm afraid. :P

Can I enter as a judge?

I would like to apply for a judge, I am currently judging people for the community band, and I do have exp. on judging music as a teacher. Thanks.

I know that I signed up to be a competitor, but I don't think that I will be able to come up with anything. So if you still need a judge, I know I'm not very experienced, but I'd be willing to do it.

I know i'm a bit late to sign up seeing it's full, but i was wondering, when you say Duet, does that include DUEL!!!!!!! ie Banjo Versus Guitar.... like the good old times...

???

So far I've been writing this for two separate keyboards, like (continuo) organ and harpsichord or harpsichord and piano. I was wondering, however, if I could simply make it a four hands piece for a single keyboard? Do four-hands keyboard pieces count as duets?

The brief does state ''2 instruments of any kind..'' so I don't think that would be possible/fair...

Also; RM Clarinet, Beethoven and Violinfiddler - we've decided to not endorse any of you as judges. Sorry. Would you still like to remain a competitor, Violinfiddler? Or should I take you off the list?

OK, thanks, I was just wondering. I'll write for two different keyboard instruments.

I'll be a judge... I'm not really up for composing a duet... it's not my style.. but I'll certainly judge them. I have grade 2 music theory and some compositions that I have yet to upload to validate my composerdom...(how CONVENIENT...)

But I do love to judge

thanks
