Hello everyone, So I tried to catch the peacefull, but at the sime time sad/ not quite right aura of Hiroshima, and played around with tempo and arpeggios. I'm fairly new to composing so feel free to give any kind of advice, critics or comments. Enjoy
Hi all, As the title says; I need some advice and / or tips with composing fast tempi compositions. In opposition to pieces with slow tempi, which I really like, the ones with fast tempi just sound flat, lack harmony and are not interesting at all... These fast tempi are in such a huge contrast qua quality and character with the slower tempi. I find it very hard to compose pieces that I do like myself. Help would be very appreciated! Just polling the room... How dictatorial do you get with your markings? If you get too fussy and mark every possible tiny crescendo and accent, you run the risk of someone taking you absolutely literally and working so hard to recreate what you have indicated in the score that all the joy is sucked out of the performance. Or worse, an irritated conductor berating their group for enjoying themselves, and being moved to deviate from the markings.
