  1. I have changed the system settings to allow new topics posted by members to be automatically followed so they're automatically notified when people reply to their topics. But apparently, this change only takes effect for members who register after this change was made. If you want to be notified when people reply to your topics (if like me you often forget to toggle the "follow" button at the bottom of your new topic), go to Account -> Account Settings -> Notification Settings -> Followed Content and click to follow new topics posted by you. Shortcut to notification settings Thanks! Peter
  2. Many thanks for listening Peter. I used the electric piano because I wanted a bright atmospheric sound, with lots of reverb. Think the closest orchestral equivalent is the vibraphone, and it does sound quite nice with that substitution. I tried to create different moods and textures in the piece: so hopefully it's not too repetitive? Think the fourth movement is probably the most successful. For the opening cello passage in the first movement, I think I had Elgar's cello concerto floating vaguely around at the back of my mind!
  3. Yes, following Ligeti, each instrument is "unique" or soloist. This also happens, for instance, in Metamorphosen by Strauss (23 string instruments). Take a look at Ligeti's scores (Lontano)
  4. I think the meter change works just fine and gives a nice contrast. I don't know if this is just a matter of personal taste but I question whether the use of electric piano was necessary and if it could maybe be replaced by some other instruments like celesta and glockenspiel. That might just be my predilection towards using acoustic vs. electric instrumentation.
  5. This is a very sophisticated piece. I think it grows on me the more I listen to it! I haven't used quartal or quintal harmonies yet, but might give it a try. If I may just ask a technical question. I wondered whether it's essential to add all the slurs by hand; or if the scoring software can try to calculate the best bowing strategy, and insert them automatically?
  6. Oh, this now sounds more complex, and quite solider. The rondo structure is now much clearer; of course notation helps but I better recognize the sections without the aid of the score now. I admire the dedication you are putting to this work and I hope it gets to wherever you want it to go. I personally never have followed any common practice strictly, perhaps I should sometime. The C section sounds much more fulfilling and powerful now. Cheer up!! Kind regards ^^.

Yes, it sounds a bit percussive, even the melody. It has some changes that remind me to Ravel.
