  1. Very solid first movement, should be quite enjoyable to play!
  2. Thanks for this comment. Unfortunately I don't have any recording equipment, therefore it was recorded with a smartphone, hence the poor quality...
  3. Thank you very much for your comments, I don't really have much room to change the orchestration, since it was meant to be played with my siblings. I don't know if I would be confortable writing for flute, oboe and strings, wouldn't it make to many solo instruments in comparaison with the accompaniment? The heavy mid register may also be due to the fact that the violon isn't really given the opportunity to use its higher register, I will keep you remark in mind for the remaning movement to be written (the second one).
  4. This is quite impressive, and sounds flawless at first hearing. Not so sure that oboes and bassoons are best suited for this score however. If I may be critical, I would say that along the way I get the impression to get caught in an endless (yet pleasing) harmonic sequence, and I really lose the sense of direction of the whole piece as well as its main and first subject (which is concerning, given that the piece is a fugue!). Perhaps would it be nice to make the piece shorter and to give it a stronger sense of contrast. The result is still very satisfying to listen to. Congrats.
  5. Hi, I'd like to share with you a short piece I wrote for piano, strings and oboe. It's the third movement of a larger piece (the slowest one). Attached are the score and a recording made with my brothers and sisters during a rehearsal. Please let me know what you think of it, Best regards, Paul
  6. Woah a lot of things happen under this sea!! Really like the overall atmosphere and sound, after 2:30 I had kind of the feeling that you discover a hidden palace full of wonders under this sea, otherwise I don't know why it should go so epic! Beautiful job, very fluid, just like the water!
  7. I would say that it doesn't sound bad at all, but a little "flat" to me; if you only want to create an overall mood (for a movie for instance) it can work, but when you listen to the piece alone, something seems to be missing, some flow that would lead the whole piece.
  8. I’d say it’s a very nice piece, not over-complicated and sometimes even ‘sparse’ in the orchestration (you could maybe spare a few instruments), but I find it very well-written, never boring and well organized. Countermelodies are beautiful, and I really enjoyed the part starting from 3.45 (beautiful melody and orchestration) which indeed really sounds like Tchaikowsky! Maybe I like the very end a bit less.
