warm piano sounds.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking for a warm, soft, smooth piano sound. I need it for emotional music.

I already tried:

- Art Vista Piano; fun sounds, but not what I'm looking for.

- Native Instruments Akoustik Piano; not warm enough.

- The Steinberg D piano in Colossus; still not what I'm looking for.

Any advice?

use an eq and some reverb.

have you tried the presets in NI akoustic piano?

Already tried that,

I'm looking for something like this:

YouTube - Misplaatst Teaser

I know youtube is bad quality, but I think I can't post the mp3 here.

You can upload it

just filter of the high freqs that make the attack sharp, put some reverb on it to make it more muddy.

if you can't make it work with at least one of the 3 you've tried, i don't think you'll ever get the sound. paino lib's are meant to sound detailed and fresh, and if you're looking for a less brilliant sound, it's up to you to make it work. NI akoustic piano is so versatile, it has different verbs, different mic placements (near, medium, far etc.), it has so much parameters.

try harder.

i say, eq and a verb is all you need.

I agree with Robert there. And you could also try boosting the bass frequencies of the piano by a little.

Nothing is going to sound right for you just out of the box. Use compressors, equalizers, etc.

Compressors? Yuck. Although I guess they're somewhat common for film music.

I tried to avoid using a compressor on anything at all anymore. It makes things louder but it, for me anyway, kills the effect of the music a bit too.
