Welcome you guys.

I'm Laura, 20, living in Michigan (though I leave for Seoul, Korea in 1 1/2 days and will be there for 2 1/2 months). Never did any composing until a couple years ago, but I've really been getting into it lately... into it enough for my cello professor to yell at me and give me a B+ *blush* I have a few things going at the moment, but for the next couple of months the only piano I have is at a friend's, who lives several appartment buildings down from us. I also won't have access to Finale over there because it's being evil and won't load on my laptop. So we'll see how things go.

I'm in my experimental phase, not really sure about everything, though I'm really liking this minimalist thing I have going at the moment. :horrified:

Yay, another Michigander! Welcome, Laura!

Hey Laura! I'm from Michigan as well.

Welcome Laura, hope Korea treats you well - what are you doing over there? I have several friends teaching English who absolutely love it...

Also, I look forward to hearing some stuff, hope you stick around!

:D

Hello, Cellobard. I think I know you from somewhere....:shifty:

Yes indeed my dear Hands, you may just know me...

I wouldn't really call myself a Michigander, as I've only been living here 4 years and plan on leaving as soon as I'm done with undergrad (unless I go to UofM?), don't like the cold much :)

As for Korea, my mom lives there right now, for work. So I'm going over for 2 1/2 months, leaving tomorrow (well, today actually). In 2 weeks, La Scala will be putting on Rinaldo and the day after my birthday the Russian National Orchestra will be playing Rachmaninov's 3rd piano concerto and Tchaikovsky's 5th, so it's looking really up, musically speaking :D I'll also hopefully be teaching piano again, and possibly other musical things/English if my contacts follow through.

Hello Everyone, My name is Spencer Jones. I have played the piano since I was 11 years old. I have taken an interest in composing every since I starte to play the piano and want to continue it as a career. I am always looking for the oppurtunity to have my compositions played and out there in the outside world.

Howdy, Spencer, and welcome to the site!

Hi, I'm Jordan (JBmusic), I'm 15 and I play the violin and just started composing this year. I enjoy writing and playing and I hope that I can get to know some of you cool music people out there.

Hey Jordan! I play violin as well. Welcome to the site.

As my frequency of visits in this place has droped down to none for at least three months, I feel I shall introduce myself again. (Sighs)

My name (for friends like you) is Arthur Reglay, yet my real name (the legal one) is Ariel David Moya Sequeira. I like to play piano and violin. My main problem as a composer is time: I don't have a lot of it.

I'm going to go to South California to visit my uncle, so if anybody lives somewhere near there, chances are we are going to see each other.

Good luck on your duties!

Hello everyone!

My name is Andr

Hello everyone.

I am Ian Williams, and I live here on the far eastern edge of Canada. The piano has always been a central figure in my life, whether I really knew it or not. Whenever I visited my grandmother's house, I would run straight for her upright piano. So many pieces of music have passed into this head that involved the old black and white keys. Since September, 2006, I have played using an old, borrowed 61 key keyboard, and composing has been minimal. I have great plans, though my lack of lessons or music/band course since I turned 18 (November, 2006) seems to be a stigma around me.

Nice to meet all of you!

Hello everyone! I'm Arne van Rietschoten from the Netherlands, by some people known as holland. And if you're from the netherlands, you're dutch. :P To make that clear :)

Well, I think i have been composing all my life. During my birth already :) ...

About a few weeks,, i will upload some compositions of myself. It will be Orchestrial, Choirs music

I say: HI EVERYONE!

To the above 3 ^^^ Welcome to YC Forums,

We hope you enjoy your stay,

Please post lots of good music thereby avoiding such places as --> Chamber Works, Experimental and Solo Keyboard Works.

A word of warning, do not post or even read Off Topic it is slightly addictive.

<---- 100 Posts :) (this is the result of Off Topic :P )

1800+ posts - Is a result of off topic! (and knowing nothing about music, but mainly off topic)

And you weren't even hear that long! I have like... 1054.

Hey yall

I am 15 in high school. I compose alot of music for band and music for symphony orchestras. I'm hoping to get something performed soon. I have performed composed/arranged piano pieces at recitals before, it has been fun. Right now I am practicing arranging piano pieces for band. It is difficult!

Hey there, GW, and welcome! :P

It's always nice to see interest in concert band; it's somewhat lacking around here.

um....Normal person here haha. Your Normal composer. don't like to write much about myself, i play instruemtns..blah blah blah. compose and stuff lol. just wanted to say hi to all my fellow muscians. now lemme go figure out how to work this site lol. feel free to say hi back! lol

Hello. I'm a 17 year old guy from Scotland - I play piano, and percussion - I love the marimba, and the timpani the most - I've played in my regional orchestra and brass band; at the moment, I play in my school's brass band [with a tiny little woodwind section] - It's very boring... All we've got is 2 hand tuned timps, drum kit, and misc. perc. toys; and there's only me on *normal* percussion, and a drummer. Anyway, to the point of this site, I don't really consider myself a composer; I don't have the technique or any skills of development; I usually hear something in my head, and try to write it down...

My *inspirations* lately have mostly been Bach; learning all 6 french suites - I also like the contemporary classical composers, like Einaudi etc..

This year, I'm going to university to study french and music - which should be fun, I hope :P

I haven't really been taking music seriously until the last year or so...

Future things I've got coming up: music exam 24th may; school music concert 22nd June. ( then that's it )

I've also been summoned to join, soon, the *Arbroath Instrumental [brass] Band*

~Dale ;)

Hello everybody, I'm sixteen and I play Viola and Classical Guitar.

I just recently got into composing and am very glad I found this site.

I just wanted to say hi to everyone...hi.

Hi I'm Shaun from Queensland, Australia. I'm only 16 but I play piano, clarinet, sax, violin and all those and drums. I've composed 3 fairly basic pieces for piano, which is my best by far, but never got them played. that's about the extent of my composing ability, but i would like to learn more. I'm planning on going to uni next year to do a music bachelor degree. I prefer to listen rather than speak. Um, that's about it for me.
