Secondary Staff - Teachers!

Featured Replies

We are now actively seeking out teachers!

Teacher Requirements:

  • Specialty/Expertise in music/music related knowledge: examples: finale tutorials, sibelius tutorials, score analysis, basic harmony/theory, counterpoint technique, etc.
  • Determination to write and expand our current Masterclass/Turorial System

In order to show our appreciation to those who wish to assist in contributing to the site by becoming a Teacher, we will increase your upload space to 800mb.

To apply, please state your specialization and what you hope to do as a Teacher!

Thanks!

Hey, I'll do this if I'm cleared ;D

Sorry, I forgot to add this to the initial post:

Teaching will specialize in Music Theory, Finale, Counterpoint, Score Anyalsis, Basic and advanced music theory. I've aced all theory cources have a BM in Music Theory/Composition,and am well on my way to receiving an MM in Music Composition. I have taken courses in Theories I - IV and some Advanced theories (sonata theory and going soon Shenkerian Analysis). In Grad school I currently teach Basic Compositions courses, and tutor in theories I - IV and Analytical Techniques.

I'd be interested in contributing to Music Theory if needed. I was a music major in college but that was (ahem) quite awhile ago so I am sure there are far more qualified people than myself on this site.

I could also contribute to a class/article on the psychology of music if that's something people might find interesting.

I could be a general composition teacher. My theory blows, my harmony's weak, can't analyze worth a damn, but I got a BFA in comp for what that's worth, and regularly write music.

Dominus,

Well, what tutorials/masterclasses do you feel you would be able to provide? Will your schooling make it difficult to devote time to being a teacher here? Tell us just a little bit more about the kinds of things you could provide as a Teacher.

Hmm...well I already am going to be devoting a lot of time to ear training courses and was going to try to tackle a lot of theory things myself, but you could be of use if you want to be the one to work on the basic theory things. You should collaborate directly with me, though. I want the theory and ear training to line up so that the theory classes are presented as sound-not just concepts if you know what I mean. Send me a PM and we'll see if we can make this work.
