Schroeder's Dance

Featured Replies

A short little ditty for piano in G-flat major. Named after Schroeder because my girlfriend suggested it.

Schroeder's Dance

I enjoyed this. You deserve those ten stars.

Not a bad piece. I like the overall jazzy feel to this. The ending seemed a bit rushed and didn't really feel like an ending at all to me. I think this is some very nice writing here, Justin. I really wish your orchestral pieces were like this.

I really wish your orchestral pieces were like this.

What's that mean?

What's that mean?

Well, I mean... your really brought interest to this. Your orchestral writing is very traditional in comparison to this wonderful writing here. It's adventurous and new and in many ways... I can hear YOU in this. And I think that's what I mean with that comment..

Pretty cool groove - the jazz inflections give a lot of life to the main motive, as do the complementary left-right hand rythms... liked it a lot :santa:

This is *fun*.

What a brilliant piece, full of personality, wit, and charm! Is it named after Schroeder, the piano playing kid on Peanuts? If so, the name is really quite apt, I could see him playing this, or this being played in a Peanuts cartoon :D

Fantastic job, Tokke  But you already knew that, didn't you? :P

Cool piece! I get a strong gospel feel from it, but also hints of other styles.

There are a few awkward moments which felt a little unclear for me. It goes by so quickly that it's very hard to pinpoint them, so you'll have to forgive me. Then again, it goes by fast that a few weak moments are hardly noticeable-and probably not that important.

At points I wish you hung on to section a bit longer, in a psuedo-minamalist fashion, because it seems to hint at this with the use of repetition, and I think at least longer build on a more constant feel would help the piece be more exciting than it already it is. This might just be me though.

I could really see this as the last piece in a suite of some sort. It has a celebratory, post-conflict, kind of feel to me.

I think you meant to write "Schroeter's Dance".

Sometimes this composers like monkeys.

I may have mentioned this once;

Named after Schroeder, ie Peanuts? Well-fit!

 This tune sounds like you went to a Black church for the first time and liked it! Piece is swingin'. Ten stars.

this is amazing ;)

Wow. That's quite a piece! When I finally get piano lessons, this is a goal :D
