Any one with NoteWorthy Composer?!

Featured Replies

OKay, so I don't know how to make my songs MIDI's!!

I want to start posting some of my songs but don't know how!!! >_<

I use Noteworthy Composer!

You need to go to the file menu and click save as. Then when the save as screen pops up at the bottom it'll say save as type. Change that to type 1 midi file.

If you want to save lyrics in the MIDI file as well, choose type 0 MIDI, but be wary. Some older programs can't open Type 0 MIDIs.

K thanks, I don't write songs with lyrics, I'm really bad at those. Ha.

(Don't you think NoteWorthy Composer is amazing? =P)

Okay, is there any way to change NoteWorthy files to Finale, without entering them in, because that takes way too long.

I've only had it for a year. It's so much easier than Sibelius and Finale.

Tehe, I'll go find that forum now, thank! ^_^

I hate NWC. Not only is it hard to use, it also has less features than Finale notepad.

Oh well excuse me. I find it easier. And I don't care for the features. They complicate everything.

I've been using NoteWorthy Composer since I started composing. It's very easy to use and reliable.

However, the print output for the pieces is bad.

For that, I use Lilypond for Printing *.pdf files with my compositions.

That means they're either not songs or the singer makes some weird sound when singing :innocent:

I use Noteworthy Composer and I love and I don't think it's harder than Finale in fact I think it's much easier. Finale to me has too many features and gets in the way of composing. I've used Finale for making the scores to print out but all the actual composing I use NWC and then just transfer it over. I guess it's a matter of opinion.

I have had NoteWorthy for 5 years. Like it a bunch. I want to hook up my Technics PX9 and record through the MIDI interface. Bought and installed USB/Midi cables (MIDISPORT Uno.) I can get my piano to play what I send to it from my laptop, but when I try to record I keep getting "There is not any music data in the recording buffer" error message. I have tried just about everything, followed the instructions and even the Noteworthy website, but nothing is working. Anybody have an idea?

I use NWC as well, I have tried all of those other programs, I have always went back to Noteworthy. I wouldn't doubt that Noteworthy has less features then Finale. But I believe that NWC has all the one's I need. It's just much faster.

I've used NWC for about 6-7 years. It's awesome.

NoteWorthy Composer - MIDI Music Composition and Notation Processor Software

This place / has a forum where people can answer your questions about the program.

That was the first program I ever used. I wouldn't call it awesome; but it's the best thing you can get for free.

I also use noteworthy for composing since I don't have a MIDI keyboard.

I do too, it's really easy to use.

I like especially how you can post the files on here now. :whistling:

But NWC has a big problem : the copy-paste function is valid only for one staff at a time, and is not transferable to other file. Besides, hairpins are not accepted. The notes do not sound when entered.

That's why I use NoteWorthy for MIDIs and Lilypond for the printable score, it looks more professional.

did you mean you can't copy something from one file and then paste it in another?

because you can, i do it all the time.

Hi all,

Its not that bad a software. Its great for starting out. I'm going to 'upgrade' to Finale during this Summer Break. Noteworthy is great for just play and compose-as-you-go, whereas Finale seems to require a lot more effort and foresight. Still - lacks in some central features - like trills, glissando, uneven triplets, etc. NWC2 is out soon but. Anyway thats all! Ciao for now,

Pravin

Sibelius 4 rocks, but a bit difficult to handle for a NWC user like me. I don't know why. The plug-ins are not so great either.

oh..

oops.

well, i really don't mind that feature not being there. if it was, i probably wouldn't know how to use it anyway. >_<

when is NWC 2 ever going to come out? I have been waiting for years!
