Golden Sun Rising

Hi folks!

This has been a very busy year for me, so I've taken the free time I had during the holidays to unwind by working on some little projects that I've been meaning to get to for a while. Among them has been a tribute/arrangement piece for a game series called Golden Sun that I continue to be a big fan of. A fresh sequel on the DS was recently released, so I figured it's the perfect opportunity to take a stab at briefly interpreting my favourite themes from the game (Main Theme and Venus Lighthouse for those who care). I should be clear and say that it's really a very faithful interpretation; I didn't take too many liberties with the original material.

It was also the perfect opportunity to test out some of my Christmas gifts to myself, including CineOrch and some VSL downloads. I'm very pleased with how it turned out, and my inner fanboy is giddy at hearing the old chiptunes played by an orchestra (even a virtual one) so hopefully you'll find something to like here too.

As always this is a very well produced piece and it sounds real human to me! As I haven't played this game I guess I am not tripping right now, but it sounds like a good arrangement. I can imagine that when one is used to the midi music nintendo mostly has behind the games, that this seriously rocks.
