Hello everybody,

A few weeks ago, Chopin and I decided to hold a competition for which Young Composers members could design a new, fresh YC logo and favicon for the website. All submissions are shown in the Young Composers Magazine #1.

This is the place where you can vote which design you like the most. The design with the most votes will be used as the official logo of the Young Composers website. Chopin can merge several designs if the vote results are very close. Now, all submissions will be showed here as well. The logo first and afterwards ths favicon. The design creators are kept secret to prevent subjectivity. Design creators are NOT allowed to vote on their own design.

The poll will be closed on Monday the 23rd of October.

What happens if there is a tie, as is currently the case?

Chopin will decide. By the way, you are not allowed to vote on your own submission, which is told in the description. No problem, Evanro had the same issue.

To whom will your vote go then?

Sorry, I didn't know that! Might I not decline to vote then? Do I have to pick one of the other three submissions?

No problem! You don't need to vote, but to be sure that the design is chosen by the entite community, we prefer to have everybody's vote.

Excited to see who wins, this is good competition even with the small number of participants.

@Eranvo voted on his own submission and told me that his vote goes to submission one.
Unfortunately, I cannot change the results in the poll so here are the results for now:

  1. 4 votes
  2. 0 votes
  3. 3 votes
  4. 4 votes

So I guess it will be "Congratulations submission 4" then! I think it would be great if every participant shared what software they used to create their logos/favicons. I used the MS Paint software.

It was very close between 1 and 4, but I had to go with the last one! Well done, everyone.

EDIT: Oh no, I meant to vote for #3! I’m sorry for messing it up! I hope we can edit the results somehow ... :/

RESULTS

@Eranvo voted on his own submission and told me that his vote goes to submission one.
@Noah Brode voted accidentally on sub.4, but he meant to vote for sub.3
Unfortunately, I cannot change the results in the poll so here are the final results:

  1. 5 votes
  2. 0 votes
  3. 5 votes
  4. 5 votes

Well, there is a sort of problem now. . . @chopin and I are going to look for a decent solution.
For now the poll is closed.

Actually, I might have an idea to incorporate elements of each design logo, even the design that received 0 votes.  I would ask @Vadrif D. Zobrist for help if you are available.  I'll start a group chat with @Maarten Bauer detailing my thoughts.

It is nice to see that more than 10 people voted, by the way!
Thanks for voting!

According to my calculations, the vote distribution is the following:

1. 5

2. 0

3. 4

4. 5

But never mind, it was close between submissions 1, 3, & 4. It's good that chopin will find a solution! Congratulations everyone for your designs!
