October's Lullaby

Featured Replies

One of my friends invited me to "Inktober" challenge, but I can't paint that good, so I decided to make this piece as an answer to her 🙂

This is an ambient piece written and arranged by me. I hope you enjoy!

DAW : FL Studio
VST Instruments : EZKeys (Dream Machine, Room Celeste preset), Serum (for Pads), Kontakt 5 (Chris Heins Solo Cello)
VST FX : Fruity Delay 3, Blackhole Reverb, Valhalla Shimmer, Fruity Compressor, Fruity Parametric EQ2

Very nice. The melody by the cello is beautiful.

I'd fix some of your levels. When the cello comes in it's extremely loud in comparison, especially with the effect in the background.
I like the use of suspended chord changes, but it becomes a bit predictable when the arrival chord's extensions are so diatonic. There's a lot of potential with the pattern you've established, just be a bit more experimental.

This piece speaks to me.  I think it is one of your strongest compositions, on several levels.  Balance out some levels..  I assume that is rain you bring in at about 1 minute.  I've found you only need to introduce and then fade out a sound effect like that, The brain's 'persistence of memory' will take over.. The brain otherwise will quickly re-difine generic rain, as noise, an it starts to detract from piece.  You've got some really fine things going on here..  I'd love to hear it longer..  EXCELLENT
