I was in the countryside of São Paulo, Brazil and decided to use my spare time to practice a bit of counterpoint. jawoodruff Posted February 27, 2020 Share Posted February 27, 2020 It's not a bad idea at all. Part of the fun of a fugue is listening for the subject amongst the noise. Not necessarily slurs. Can be accents, staccato markings, or something along that line -just enough to draw the ear to the entries. I only stopped it because I have to focus on some other important projects at the moment 🙂 But I'm glad it found it somewhat enjoyable, which is quite hard to make this kind of study sound like.
