Soliloquy for Piano No. 11

Featured Replies

This is my "Soliloquy for Piano No. 11". I composed it in memory of my uncle who recently passed away.

Here is the link to my previous soliloquy for piano:

I like this piece. It takes a new dimension your concept and it is interesting the homophonic textures almost all the time (good to break it some times). There is a chord that sounds muddy (the last one in measure 3) probably because of the bottom notes, that are close.

Thanks Luis Hernandez for your review and criticism. I am glad that you like the piece!

@luderart it sounds very nice to me. Though you are moving the basse in paralell octaves with the tipler at times the harmony sounds interesting. I like the low register and the mood.

Thanks for sharing!

Some house cleaning: dynamic and tempo at the beginning? m.4 bass, I wouldn't notate it as dotted 8ths as you need to show the rhythmic beaming of the meter. At m.4 you are clearly in a 6/8 meter (by the sounds of it), and would mark it as such - - this incremental metronome marking is best suited for movie scoring. Also at the beginning I'm hearing this more in 2/4 rather than 3/4 (but could be due to the playback). All in all it's promising and my condolences over the loss of your uncle.
