  1. Hi all! Today I come with a one minute long horror short that I decided to score! This was completely shot, edited, and scored by me! As well as acted by me also, unfortunately. I don't have a plug in to view the video and score alongside it so cues were hit based on timestamp alone. Which was fun! I used Spitfire Audio's Intimate Strings, Epic Choirs, and BBCSO Discover, as well as Amadeus Symphonic. Hope you enjoy the watch and it is plenty creepy enough! Looking forward you your feedback.
  2. I just finished my first composition of 2024. This is a choral setting of a 1918 poem by Alfred Noyes, "Peace". In my life, finding peace has not been easy, and it has required great patience and waiting. This is reflected in the slow lilting tempo. Although it alternates between 11/8 and 12/8 time, it doesn't "sound complicated". The piano sound is Kontakt's August Förster Grand and the vocals were modeled in Synthesizer V Studio Pro.
  3. Suggestion: Allow the 1st violins take over the high notes. Strings can easily do that.
  4. HI there, I am not sure if the melody fits the oboe register well. You want to reconsider what instrument fits the best with that given range and register.

Another reworked composition from something I wrote years ago. I just liked the melody I guess...
  6. @Layne Wow! This is impressive. The music goes well with the scenes also because of a good grasp of timing and thoughtful calibration and editing. The use of material was minimal and economical. Just checked out your YT and Instagram... really interesting and cool! Thanks for sharing!
  7. Ah, you'll love this, then: (It actually starts at sec. 40)
  8. Wonderful, quirky and great for an introduction to a program about Mexican art and culture! Some of my favorite jazz music (although I am not much of a connoisseur) comes from the Veracruz region iirc. My favorite arrangement is this one by Stanley Turrentine: Thanks for sharing! Peter

Hi all, For those interested in this thread ... I met with my mentor the other day. I am uploading an improved mid-section. The improvements include articulations, added percussion, improved transition to the end, and additional material to create a better listening arc. I won't post this work again; however, I will continue to work on the piece. Comments most appreciated.
  10. Got commissioned by a grad student at my uni for a piece on their terminal recital. Feedback is always appreciated.
  11. This guy is pretty cool too https://www.youtube.com/@SonataSecrets
  12. My personal favourite are these: https://youtube.com/@DavidGozaTheAtheistCodger https://youtube.com/@richardatkinson2108 These two channels are amazing for its analytical content! Freakingly amazing. https://youtube.com/@AshishXiangyiKumar This is a great channel mainly on piano music. But it's quite inactive now. https://youtube.com/@musicianseacow This is a great analytical channel as well, in a more popular approach, but it's in Chinese since it's made by a Taiwan youtuber. There are many others but these are my favourite ones. Henry
