  1. Would anyone be able to tell me which chord progression would be best as an accompaniment to my vocals? I am singing in Ab Major

  5. This kind of writing I think could be greatly enhanced by paying attention to where the music is going at the macro-tonal level and coordinating that with giant dynamic gestures (big crescendo's or decrescendos). That's really the only thing I can think of that would make this even more musical than it already is. I think dynamics always tend to make music sound more alive and vibrant. Also - really cool use of extended harmony. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Beautifully written. However, this really needs some expression/modulation to make it more expressive, especially with the inner moving parts (as it stands they are hard to hear). I second this, or at least a MIDI file.

  7. an impressive introduction. It seems appropriate for the dramatic scene of an action or sci-fi movie. Do you have a score to see what's going on?

  8. Hey guys! I recorded this piece, with live string quartet and and oboeist. It was a blast! Working with musicians is cool because it gives you so much feedback, and there's always mistakes to learn from. What I have learnt this time is that if most notes are staccato, and some aren't, they would probably play staccato if not noted. So, I should really have marked tenuto on the notes that I wanted to lengthen. So on this video they re-recorded the whole piece with my intended articulation. Also the high notes in bar 32 and 33 for oboe. I thought it would be hard to hit the note
