Mike
A few months ago, I told myself that over the summer, I would author a custom system to automate the creation, management and judging of music competitions here on YC. This aspiration was mentioned in the 2008 Users Survey Analysis. However, I am actually finding myself with less free time to spare now compared to back then. It's becoming increasingly apparent that unless someone is able to help me out, I may not have enough time and energy to last the distance. Thus, I'm looking for anyone with knowledge of HTML/CSS to help produce front-end code for the system. That would leave less for me to do. If, by any miracle, anyone out there happens to be proficient in PHP, JavaScript or even MySQL, all the better. The unfortunate yet predictable caveat is, however, that we couldn't afford to actually pay anyone to do this. Ideally, you would be a student looking to gain experience. You could put it down on your Resume/CV... Or, you could just be someone willing to help out. Anyway, I don't have huge expectations, but please, if you think you could be any help, drop me a line. marsbars
I have a fair amount of experience with MYSQL/PHP/JS/AJAX. I'm not a code demigod by any stretch, but I'm willing to help out any way I can.

NoQuarter
Well I used to be a web developer. ASP.NET though, not PHP, I only touched it pretty briefly, however the core concepts remain the same. I'm also pretty good with HTML, javascript and CSS.
Tokkemon
I know some HTML and a novice at CSS. Willing to learn.
jujimufu
I know some decent html and css, and can manipulate javascript here and there although I don't know anything about it. I've also had some experience with flash mx and actionscript, if you're planning on having any wicked menus or anything. Or not. Anyway, I can give you a few links with previous websites of mine so you can take a look and tell me what you think, but in general I would love to help with the front-end design, even if I am just giving ideas instead of writing the code (I mean, I could write code if you wanted me to, but if you find people with more knowledge on web development, I would gladly help you with the web designing part of the front-end :P ). Americanadian
I'm a software engineer with Microsoft. I use a wide array of languages and have experience integrating with DB's. What I would suggest, if you would like to do a re-org on the site is to use Silverlight. It is the most powerful SDK available right now for developing flashy UI's. I work for the Windows Live group, we use it quite readily in there. Let me know if I can help. Chris
KSP
Hi, I am proficient in SQL, HTML and CSS and also use Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash. My best strengths are CSS and SQL. I have developed the content management library for a commercial system using C#, CSS and SQL: https://rockreports.granitenet.com/rock_reports/default.aspx and helped develop and manage the MySQL database for an IEEE project: About OUMgt.Meetings Graphics Gallery: http://exofficia.deviantart.com/

OmarSanchez
I know tons of coders....maybe I'll ask them to help....but will they do it for free? Who knows...They are professionals, so I am not sure. You can try posting on the VBulletin Forum, ddboard.com, even webhosting forums (the ones where you search for a web host) they have a "Services" Section. If you are willing to pay, I know a lot coders who spend their time doing this....a few of them are my staff at my coding forum....so yeah, there is many things you can do to get coders, just ask on other forums. =) (always ask for samples)
