Piano Suite: III. Summer

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is the third movement of the Seizoenen* Suite for solo Piano, which is called Zomer.**
*Seasons. **Summer.

The Summer is for me the period, when I can relax. In this period we namely have a long school break (6 / 7 weeks).
I wanted to let this association with the Summer sound in the music.

Feedback would be very nice!

M.Bauer - Suite for Piano''Seizoenen'', Op.28 III. Zomer.pdf

VERY BEAUTIFUL. Yes, it makes me think of Summer days. Here it's very hot and the dizziness of the main theme reminds me of it.

I like the extended harmonies you use, even harmonies by seconds, nice...

Thank you!

You won't believe it, but it can also be very hot in Holland!
I didn't know why I associated this melody with the Summer, but now I know it: dizziness.

I am glad you like it.

Very nice! I think this piece really nicely shows the contrast between the oppressive heat and the relative freedom that usually come with summer. I really like the way you use some syncopations in the main theme. It has a nice offbeat sort of effect that got my attention. Here in the American South, I can certainly relate to the dizzying heats you and Luis describe.

Thank you very much!

I am glad you like it. One movement left: Autumn, so stay tuned!
