Romance for Piano Solo

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

I have written a short piano piece, Romance today, for a lady I love. Any comments are welcomed!

Thank you.

HoYin

That's a really nice mix of eastern and western tonality.  I'm sure the lady will love it.

It's interesting how you mix intervals when harmonizing the melody, it works fine. You create a peculiar harmonic little world here.

Thank you for the comments:) Hope you all enjoyed it. This piece also gives me some new insights in composing.

It sounds great but there's something you might want to add before letting her listen to it.

When I wrote pieces for loves of mine, I made sure that they have memorable melody.

And thus (I think that's the right word) they, each one in her turn, got to remember it.

Some started humming it to themselves and it became kind of a game,

I started hiding the themes each one remembered in certain pieces,

and asked them to check the piece as there's nothing special there.

It's always nice to get this "Omg I can't believe it, my melody is there!"

I'll upload some of these pieces as an example.

6 is the oldest, after her came the one I wrote "Love Music Piece" for, and the current one has "Nameless for Now",

she doesn't know about it yet, which is why it's nameless.
