Any style you want!

You can submit a piece that is modern or classical. As long as it could be called a prelude or fugue, go for it!

I am allowing such a broad range so we can have a collection which showcases the different members, and thus YC as a whole.

@aMusicComposer I'm more accustomed to Renaissance polyphony. Am I allowed to use those rules for this piece, or is a "proper" fugue with subject, answer, and dux, etc. more desired?

Therefore, I would ask you to write in the style which is most natural for you.

OK, I am more comfortable with contemporary techniques (all of them). For me, sticking to tonal / functional music is not enough to try to express what I want. In fact tonal music is just one more tool for me, and I mix it with any other contemporary language.
