First attempt at synth creation

Featured Replies

I'm new to synth creation, but here's my first project

Hey!

I also don't have much knowledge when it comes to synths, however I feel like there's a big dinamic diference between the attack and the sustain of the notes. That might make it hard to use, as it will sound too loud and too low at the same time. Perhaps trying to close this gap might make for a more "usable" instrument.

On the other hand, you can combine it with another synth sound that has a weak attack and a more consistent sustain, so that you can have a more balanced sound throughout.

I hope it was of any help,

Best Wishes, Jean.

Hey there!

The attack timing is a little funky to me - it's in a weird zone where it would sound better slower OR faster but probably not where it's at 😄 Good composition, though - the melody and accompaniment suit each other. Reminds me a little bit of some Naruto music...? Anyway! What DAW did you use?

@Gustav Johnson Thank you, I use FL 20.

Ah - mkay! I use Ableton, so I'm not familiar with how you'd adjust those settings in FL, but I'm sure a little internet research will have the answers. Anyway, I can tell you that I'm learning a lot from my own experimentation, so stay encouraged about trying new things and explore all the rabbit trails that catch your fancy 🙂

@Gustav Johnson honestly it's where some of the best and most inventive ideas come from!
