This is ONE FRUSTRATING site. I can't work out how to get to my message inbox. I mean, that should be dead simple.

Yes. But that doesn't lead to my inbox. It just gives a list of 3 messages in a window overlaid on the forum I'm in, and bears no relationship to current traffic except the top one. I expected it to switch to a panel that had inbox and outbox.

Just a weird site. Like the chat box works from latest at the top not at the bottom so you have to read it opposite from the regular way people (at least I) read lists/books.

@Quinn I guess that the concept of the inbox is a little bit different from what you apparently understand it to be. I don’t think it is supposed to work like an email, in which you have an inbox and outbox, but simply a “chat system” in which you can create conversations with groups or individuals.

I have a dilemma... I wrote my piece for solo harp with a bunch of extended techniques that Logic does not supply. What do you think the best course of action is here for presentation?

@Monarcheon Would it be possible to get in touch with a harpist? Perhaps during quarantine getting an instrumentist to read through your music might be a bit easier.

I mean, yes, I could, but I'm not sure I really want to pay for a smaller event like this.

@Monarcheon I mean contacting a harp student, that perhaps has quite a bit of time while in their uni dorm. I don't know how hard is your piece, though, so that might be off the table.

Most of it isn't extended technique, so I could probably do a decent job of programming in what I need anyway. It's just a little inconvenient haha.

Do you have noteperformer? If not, do you think it would be able to perform your music? If the answer for the first is no and for the second yes, I can export it for you.

No, and I don't know what that is. Can it handle extended techniques?

Not only it handles quite a lot of extended techniques on many instruments, you extract the audio directly from your notation software. It is especially nice if you give attention to dinamic and articulations, as it uses artificial intelligence to "predict" how an actual instrumentist would follow those markins.

Almost done. This lockdown thing tends to focus one's mind. Just got to transfer it to the daw now, do a few tweaks no doubt. 

Wow.  So I guess the event is already over.  It must have been like writing to a creative writing prompt in the world of literature.  Is there a place somewhere where all the prompts and results are posted?

we can do it again at some point, we could do a poll on it in the winter. I didn't even finish my piece though, I can upload what I made though

I'm listening to all the submissions right now.  There's quite a lot of diversity.  Were most of the people participating in the secret santa thing happy with their prompt?  Would it be appropriate to set up a poll about it to see what the interest is in doing it again and what if anything could be done differently?
