April 11, 20205 yr My first piece for solo violin: a sonata-form Allegro. I hope you enjoy. I'd welcome any and all feedback, especially if there's areas that aren't very playable...
April 11, 20205 yr Very nice. This is certainly quite playable, actually wouldn't be too difficult to perform at all. What solo violin samples do you use?
April 12, 20205 yr Author Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I will pass it on to my violinist colleague and see what she makes of it! I use Sibelius and Noteperformer, I think it sounds surprisingly good considering there's no customization required! Every time I ponder upgrading my setup, I remember that I've heard NP output THIS:
April 14, 20205 yr This piece works well. I think at some spots you can even have it 8va to explore more of the violins range. I think that will make it an even better piece. You may even want it faster!
April 14, 20205 yr Fantastic. It's not too difficult to perform - it doesn't pose major problems. 0:15 surprised me a little on the first playing, but once that motif had been used a few times, it settled for me.
April 30, 20205 yr I also consider this piece being in modest difficulty. I would prefer more varied use of violin: doubles, pizzicatos, playing techniques... I don't find problems with harmonic world, even though it is not going very far from D major it is sufficient enough. There are indeed some wonderful motivic ideas in this movement, sort-of Baroque with false progression of harmonies. 🙂
May 1, 20205 yr This is a delightful composition! The melodic line is very stable and easy to follow and the harmony is classically inspired, but with some nice surprises! I love your use of chromaticism. Great work! 😄
