PaulP
Perhaps there is a simple solution to this I'm not seeing. I am trying to upload 2 files to the 'fuge challenge' thread. They are: PaulPCm (26.5Kb) and PaulDmTheme (151bytes only) I included the file names in case there is an issue with them and the upload. They are both midi files. I've used a total of 166.1 kb on uploaded files. Every time I try to upload I get an "upload failed" message. ??
Mike
It may have been a permissions issue. Try it now.
PaulP
Still no go. This is the first time I've had problems. I've turned off my firewall and still no go. Any suggestions?
Saiming
I've got the same problem. I choose the file I want to upload, press the upload button and then it is writtin upload failed, or somthing similiar.

Mike
I can't reproduce this behaviour. I'm able to upload a MIDI file using the Upload facility, then when I post my reply it is downloadable from within the post. Everything seems to work fine. Perhaps you have already uploaded the file you are trying to upload and it's "in progress", thus you need to delete the old version? Go to edit attachments and check the list for anything whose date is listed as "In Progress". Delete them and try again (though be careful you don't delete anything you later regret). Further, it would be useful if you provided a more detailed explanation of what the error message you are receiving actually says.
Mitchell
umm, okay, i just had the same problem, with a jpg AND an nwc file. please fix this?
Guest JohnGalt
umm, okay, i just had the same problem, with a jpg AND an nwc file. please fix this? Can't fix it if you don't know what the problem is. My guess would be server related issues. It shouldn't be a permission problem, and it isn't completely broken because Mike can use it. Mike
Can't fix it if you don't know what the problem is. Well, exactly, I'm not psychic. And everything (on the surface at least) seems to be set up correctly, so there's no solving this through intuition. I'll call in vB support, they should locate the source of the problem. Go to edit attachments and check the list for anything whose date is listed as "In Progress". Delete them and try again (though be careful you don't delete anything you later regret). Checked. No duplicate file names. No "in progress". The midi files are within the allowed limit, they are small, and they aren't already listed. Tried changing the file names. Further, it would be useful if you provided a more detailed explanation of what the error message you are receiving actually says. Here is the exact message: PaulPCmFuge.mid: Upload of file failed. Edit: I've tried again 12 hours later(this post), in case it was a server issue that was time sensitive.
Mike
vB support have yet to figure out the problem. I would imagine the issue will be resolved some time tomorrow after they've had some time to bang ideas together. Obviously, this is pretty disastrous given how crucial the attachment feature is to us here at YC. Apologies to everyone affected.
Mike
The issue should be resolved now. Tell me if you have any more difficulties.

chopin
Please provide me the link so I can see the error for myself when I try to upload it to your music profile.
dscid
I too was unable to upload - thought it was a size issue because it was over 25mb, tried to re-upload half the piece (14mb) and still fails at about 90% complete.

Guest John Pax
I'm having the same issue when re uploading a file. It gets to roughly 90% and stops with an error.
