I am writing a Piano Concerto, and I have just had a section FF e molto appasionato. In the next section, I want the strings to create a broad sound which seems to wash over the audience. Is there a musical term to describe this "washing"?
bkatona posted a topic in Jazz, Band, Pop, RockHello, I thought I would share this song I wrote from the new musical, Jesse James: DEAD OR ALIVE. The show is based on the life of the Western outlaw Jesse James. The music has a rock/Americana style so I thought this might be the best area to post. Thank you for listening! https://soundcloud.com/emlaproductions/ride-on-from-jesse-james-dead
luderart posted a topic in Composers' HeadquartersMost of my music seems clearly divided into 4-bar sections or thoughts of reliable regularity that follow one another rather than truly proceeding from one another, or merging into one another as great music I have come to believe should. I am seeing this as a shortness of the span of my musical thought. If so, is that a weakness and should one seek to remedy it? Indeed, can it be remedied or is it rather a reflection of one's maturity and life experience that can only be changed through developing maturity as a person first and only then as a composer?
All, I am writing to let you know about a project that I have created which serves to promote and support new compositions for musical theater in a unique way. I ask that you take a look and offer any comments, advice, or feedback that you can. It would be extremely appreciated. I am especially interested in any help in spreading my message and am eager to find original articles, music, or ideas to be shared should you know of any. www.musicalrebirth.com All my best, Joe Hargis Creator, Musical Rebirth Project
