  1. Bravo. I love this language of yours, it's modern and understandable at first sight. I find everything in its place in terms of balance... Thanks for sharing the score, it is beaurifully written.

Hello Mark, First of all, sorry for my late reply. Don't feel sorry about the saxophone piece. There is no deadline and it is no must. Only do and start it when you want it yourself. If you need help, I always want to answer your questions! To be honest, I cannot compose music to order too. . . That will be one of the main struggles at the conservatorium, I fear. My solution is to travel to a location that I do not know very well. Then the ideas and inspiration come back. Best regards, Maarten
  3. As far as I know, it is slightly harder to play flatterzunge below low D, but you do not need to worry about this. There is namely a solution: throat flutter. ''Throat Flutter can be very useful in the low register and softer dynamics for a clearer tone.'' Source: https://www.flutexpansions.com/flutter-tongue
  4. The flute has quite a large tone difference between registers (not as much as, say, the clarinet though). If you took the whole thing up an octave, it would not necessarily be louder but it would become more excited. Also, the last high B is difficult to play up the octave, especially jumping from a D. It would sound nice both ways, but it really depends on the musical effect you want. Good luck with your piece.
