  1. Hi forum 🙂 Here's a lovely and simple new rural/pastoral duet for english horn and guitar. Hope you'll like it 🙂
  2. 1 point
A minuet in Eb for flute and cello.
  3. Probably the second. I feel like music is as much about being interesting as it is about being beautiful. A justly intonated C major triad playing for a minute might sound beautiful and harmonious, but it definitely isn't interesting. But I guess I agree with bkho, I compose music that I would enjoy listening to.
  4. I just compose music that I myself would enjoy listening.
  5. I think my school of thought is the second one - natural. It might be because I don't have much composing experience, but my hymn writing comes very natural. Almost by inspiration, and I write out the melodies and harmonies as I hear them. I don't look to impress with my music, I just try to make it be as natural and as true to the intended tune or melody as possible.
  6. I like it very much. I give you a piece of advice: about dynamics, all of the instruments work between pp and ff (pianísimo - fortísimo), the only section that works well with ppp is the strings (and the piano). That is more realistic. The balance of sound must be reached managing the instruments within their possibilities. Of course you'll find scores where those limits are surpassed, but they usually are contemporary pieces.
