  1. This original piano piece has very simple chords and melody, with the goal to create a soft, intimate and peaceful mood. Yet also with some underlying uplifting feeling and emotion. Simple, with 'stirring' quality if you know what I mean. Hope I achieved that. Let me know. 2019: This is an improvisation I made in 2019, recording live into my DAW without following the DAW metronome. So I had it in midi but measures do not follow a metronome beat. I couldn't record to a metronome anyway because there is much intentional rubato in this piece. 2026: Now I wanted to use a better piano sound and that was easy- just play the midi file with a good piano vst. The piano you hear is the UVI Model D Piano vst playing the original midi file I improvised in 2019 (with some minor note improvements) However what was not easy is creating the score! Which requires quantized notes. So I had a lot of work remaking every measure to have midi notes quantized, not for playing, but for the score. So the score does not play the piano but does show the accurate notes of the midi file that is playing the piano. Comments and suggestions welcome! score available for purchase at: https://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/se/ID_No/1956655/Product.aspx Follow score pdf:
  2. Nice and comforting! What piano sound? Also there are musical markings to indicate playing 'freely' such as rubato and expressivo, etc
  3. I've listened to it now at least 3 or 4 times because I like it a lot! I like the dynamic 'pause and go' flow throughout and full use of piano range. While it sounds difficult I would think any decent pianist could play it. Nice piano sound. What piano sound was it made with?
  4. Enjoyed this charming piano work, which is bright and lively. I like the sudden changes like borrowed chords and a quick major to minor, then back. Has a touch of humor, as scherzo's can often have.
  5. I enjoyed it and just listened and followed the score. I also wrote a stream impression piece called The Brook. It uses arpeggios which I think works nice for something like flowing water.
  6. I very much enjoyed this! I watched the youtube with score. The starting measures actually which gave me goose bumbs! I don't know the Ukrainian national anthem but knew when it came in by the colored lyrics. Would be great if singers could be added. I haven't written a fugue in a long time but listen to Bach all the time (my fav composer as well). This fugue appears true to form even as it's very chromatic. Of course Art of Fugue comes to mind. Congrats on this work! Thanks for comments on my first jazz composition attempt, Night Train Home. I have a long way to go learning jazz, and appreciate mentioning Nikolai Kapustin who I've never heard before. I listened to several of his jazz piano solo works and hope to work to his level of expertise.
  7. "Night Train Home" I wanted to write a jazz instrumental but never studied jazz technique before. So I dug into jazz theory three weeks ago and began writing my first jazz quintet! I wrote all the chords and notes and performed the virtual instruments on keyboard. Except drums which started with midi loops that I heavily edited. No AI. Comments welcome!
  8. Four short soft piano compositions
  9. A few places need edited maybe, but this is a masterpiece! How classically trained are you? Must be. Brilliant piece!
  10. Nice and relaxing! I like the traditional hymn like pattern and harmonies. Peaceful !
  11. Very dark mood that kept me listening all the way! I like the unexpeted chromatic changes and I agree it's very rhapsodic. I'm not sure what's happening at 3:42- 3:48, very low notes? Superb piece!
  12. Re-posted below because of misspelling in the video. I will be deleting the first video off youtube
  13. wow nice! I like the non-stop flow and the high notes near the end. Maybe add a little bit of staccato here and there.
