Popular (short piano piece)

Featured Replies

Hello,

This is my lattest piano work, composed in january. I wanted write an animated piece, inspired by popular music of Portugal, so it is very tonal probably one of the most tonal pieces I made.

I would apreciate very much your feedback and I apologise for the lack of dynamics

Thank you!

Pleasant.
1. I would make your modulation back to F# a little more clear.
2. In the second measure of every main phrase, the pseudo-chromaticism is off-putting, since the process begins as such, but becomes diatonic by the end of the bar, normally it's the other way around (tip to make something not chromatic sound chromatic), but I can kind of see the V - I approach. Maybe look into it.
It's overall quite good. Pop songs aren't this short though. :)

I find it quite funny and nice.

Very playful! I liked it.

Maybe try to develop the theme(s) more and lengthen the piece qua duration. For me the piece does not sound finished.
