Jean Szulc
Hello! I composed a cycle of three ponteios, which are the Brasilian version of a prelude. They are all in hommage to Camargo Guarnieri, along with my video about his life. Well, I won't say much about them, but I have thought them through quite well, so if you are interested in knowing more about what's behind each of them, feel free to ask! Feedback is always apreciated, good or bad. Thank you for listening, Cheers!
Luis Hernández
I love this "ponteios". I knew some of Guarnieri's music. Particularly I like the first one.But the three of them ave very imaginative and beautiful. Love the percussive effect in the third one. Nice work. I only find the sound of the piano a bit "metallic", it's just a matter of taste.
Jean Szulc
@Luis Hernández Hey, thank you for listening! I'm also not a great fan of this piano sound. Although I like the way the NotePerformer piano sounds, after I exported it it sounded "bassless". I tried correcting it with a bit of EQ, but it remaided metallic. Thank you for your feedback 🙂
jawoodruff
Quite imaginative. The use of clusters is a nice touch. I've not heard much of your music -is this a good representation?
Jean Szulc
@jawoodruff Hey, thanks for listening 🙂 I wouldn’t say it’s a good representation of my music, as all my pieces are quite different from each other. If you are interested in listening to my music I‘d recommend trying my Adagio for Strings, which you can find on my channel. There is also a post here in the forum about the piece, in case you want to comment about it.
Luis Hernández
@Jean Szulc Hi, this works for me. When I use the piano with NotePerformer, I reduce the reverb, and it sounds much better.
Jean Szulc
@Luis Hernández I'll try it out next time! Thanks a lot for helping 🙂 Edited December 29, 2019 by Jean Szulc

Theodore Servin
These are very interesting pieces! I like the catchy rhythms and harmonic progressions very much. Also, I like the way you wrote for piano. Like @Luis Hernández, I'm particularly fond of the first ponteio, but these are all well-crafted works! Congratulations! Jean Szulc
@Theodore Servin Hey! Thank you for listening. The piano writing was completely inspired by Camargo Guarnieri (and Debussy, in the third mov.). His pieces can teach us a lot about how to write for the instrument. Cheers! BlazingDragon
So many lovely colors, and your use of rhythm is refreshing! I feel that I could learn much about piano writing from studying this piece. Wonderful work.
