August 17, 20205 yr Hello! Here is a new piano sonata allegro movement that I've written during the pandemic. I'd welcome any feedback you might have. ๐ย Dan ย ย
August 17, 20205 yr Love it.ย Classical in form but with unexpected harmonic twists that come fast and furious, kind of reminds me of Domenico Scarlatti in that way.ย
August 19, 20205 yr Very good sonata, excellent use of dynamics, the only criticism that I have to make is that the ending is a little anticlimatic, but that's just my opinion, good work
September 2, 20205 yr I think you have successfully blended the classical period style with your own style. I especially liked the melody , on the repeating notes.I enjoyed listening.
September 2, 20205 yr The only thing I didn't like about this is meas. 115-125 which seem prolong the dominant for far too long to my ear.ย It sounds labored because you keep building expectation and even though you resolve to the tonic in 121 you then immediately return to the dominant and build more and more.ย To me it's just too much repetition.ย But that's just my own personal taste.ย Overall this was quite an enjoyable sonata!ย Great job.
September 4, 20205 yr Very good sonata movement, I specially enjoyed the staccato repeated notes sections with some counterpoint on the right and left hand. You could think on a second and third movement to complete a piano sonata.
