  1. So, I'm using MuseScore and really like the versatility and user-friendliness of the application. My only question is... Where can I find good VST or virtual instruments for it?
  2. Hi all, I have recently launched a website to help composers and virtual orchestrators learn how to create an effective midi mockup. https://synthestration.com There is currently a launch sale active where you can receive 15% off any order, just use the coupon code LAUNCH15 at checkout. The current products available include a downloadable project file containing all MIDI data, routing and mix settings, and comment markers to show you exactly how a specific piece of music was 'mocked-up' and what techniques were used to achieve specific articulations and tone. The project file can be downloaded for either Logic or Cubase (more DAWs to be supported in the future). There is also a fully orchestrated score to accompany the project file for you to reference. As of this writing, there is only one piece available, which makes use of East West's Symphonic Orchestra sample library, and their Spaces reverb plugin. Both are included with their Composer Cloud subscription. In summary, you will see everything that was done in order to achieve this result: https://soundcloud.com/synthestration/symphonic-explorations If you purchase a product from synthestration.com, you gain access to an exclusive chat server where you can ask an unlimited number of questions about the product, or indeed anything that is on your mind! Of course, feel free to ask any questions via our contact form on the site, or simply respond in this thread. Cheers, Jayden https://synthestration.com
  3. Not sure where to post this (on & off the site as I finish my degree in Illustration/Visual Communication Design this year) but I was wondering if anyone knew how to export FL Studio to .mp3 without it muting/cutting out the VSTs. I constantly have the issue of adding all the instruments that I would like, sounds normal, then after exporting to .mp3, I test the .mp3 version and find it muted/cut out some (of not most) of the VSTs in the final exported piece. It sounds normal in FL Studio (sometimes it still cuts out when playing back the piece in FL Studio - but the issue is guaranteed on export). This is likely a simple fix, but I'm not sure how to solve this issue. I don't create elaborate pieces (as I am self taught and still learning the process), but I'm wondering if there is any way I can salvage the music piece I have created at this point... It is only 1-2min long... and I would like to continue building on it. If you would like to know the VSTs that give me the most issues they are Symphonic Orchestra and Kontakt player. I am using FL Studio 10 (extended memory). Also, If I understand correctly, FL Studio only allows around 4 RAM of room for me to create a music piece - if that is even a factor in the related issue. Let me know if I can provide more info. Like I said, I'm not sure if this fits in this forum, but since I use the VSTs, i figured perhaps someone might be able to help... Thanks! Karisa L. Clark
  4. Hi ppl! I am looking for a composition-software. I know programms which only allow you to type in notes in a notation view but I also need a piano-roll (like the one in Fruity-Loops or Logic, Garage-Band, etc..). It is also very important that I can integrate VSTs like "The Grand 3" or "Alicia's keys" because I hate that typical bad-quality-sound which programms like "Sibelius" have. I don't need any programms like "FL Studio" or "Logic" because I never use and don't want to pay for all of the functions beside the piano roll and vst-integration. regards alex2east :)
  5. Hey YC, I've been looking into software a little, but I haven't gotten much to work with. I recently bought a M-audio MIDI keyboard, and the only thing I've been able to do with it is plug in some notes in the Finale and Sibelius free trials. However, a lot of ya'll say that writing by hand is much more beneficial so I think I'm going to start doing that again. But I would also like to invest in some VST's and programs that will allow me to record what I write. The only program I have really heard of is Cakewalk, but I haven't been able to find out about it much. So, if ya'll could kind of give me a list of what I should get I would really appreciate it. WHAT I HAVE: A PC A M-Audio MIDI Keyboard Under $10,000,000 :P WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO: Be able to record orchestral pieces that I compose on that keyboard with as much quality for the lowest price. What VST packs do I buy? What programs do I use? Just a complete list to be able to do as I described for the best price. Thanks, Chop :w00t:
  6. I've been trying to configure my MIDI keyboard in Sibelius 7, but I'm not sure how to configure it properly. It works okay but it has a slow response when I play the notes, with the ASIO drivers running, that shouldn't happen because I use ASIO as well in FL studio and the response is perfect, so, do you have any idea on how to fix this ? or if it can be fixed or improved somehow to begin with ? And another question, I just started using it and I would like to know if it's possible to add an East West Vst instrument into Sibelius sound library, and how ?? Thank you
