Uh...

I was talking to someone in the shoutbox when

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: nrz3leejuwzosewlae3() in /home/yc/public_html/forum/vbseo.php on line 763

appeared in the shoutbox.

When I refreshed the page, all that came up on the entire page was:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/yc/public_html/forum/vbseo.php on line 370

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: nrz3leejuwzosewlae3() in /home/yc/public_html/forum/vbseo.php on line 763

and the time was about 2:07 my time... if any of this means anything.

Reusing an old error thread...

I was viewing a thread with a poll a few mintues ago and saw a few weird errors on the page...

1) the bar for the second poll choice was a streched version of JohnGalt's avatar

2) instead of a little arrow in the quote box (the one that lets you view the original post), there was a Digg it logo (the little white man with a shovel)

Anyways....

I'll go get a life.

Ok, I know I'm anal by nature but am I the only one who sees *alot* of these little errors where one [small] image is mistakenly replaced by another? ;)

I know I'm not going insane and I know it's not my computer, because it's happened on several school computers....

So, uh...

This time I screen-shot one of the more common ones...

*reusing old thread*

Just a note: Whenever I click on the Trackbacks, Pingbacks or Refbacks links at the bottom of thread pages, the corresponding FAQ page opens in a new window/tab but it shows me as not logged in whereas the other links in the same box, when clicked, open a new window but the user is shown as logged in.

I dug around a little.... now I get it

It also explains the new "Linkback" drop-down menu at the top of each thread.

This is actually pretty cool, come to think about it. From what I've gathered, If you read an article that has linkbacks enabled, copy it's trackback or pingback url, depending on the desired effect into the new trackback field that is at the bottom of the post input box when you click "Go Advanced" when entering a post and it lets the original source know where it's information is being used. And, if anyone finds anything worth referencing around here, they can credit us and show us who is quoting our forum's members. ...scary thought.

I thought it was one of you who wrote the page but now that I see the FAQ page for linkbacks showing up on other forums, I realize I have to go higher up to complain that according to the internet, "phisically" isn't a real word. :whistling:

EDIT: Also, since the entire Off Topic forum is now members only, the "(Because the information within this forum may be of a somewhat personal nature, only registered members may access it)" notification seems rather redundant :P

Thanks, I've sorted that out.

A technician recently recompiled PHP and Apache on our server with some extra functionality we thought might aid us in getting something to work. Obviously it's had some kind of knock-on effect - however, it probably has to do specifically with him accidentally overwriting the PHP configuration file which (among other things) defines the maximum amount of memory PHP is allowed to burst. Seems vB has enough, but MediaWiki does not.

I'm working on the issue and it should be resolved quite shortly. :)
