Tuskle
This Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@youngcomposers.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. popped up right while i hit the "Submit Reply" button for this: An error occurs when i make a post that exceeds a certain size. It causes the whole text editor to freeze so that i can neither add text nor delete text. I cannot perform actions such as copying as well (neither right click > copy nor shortcuts seem to work). I managed to copy the text out of the preview and re-opened the window in another tab then, so that i could continue with my post. I always use the advanced editor and I increased the standard size of the editor window quite a lot. I think it mostly happened when i switched from another tab of FireFox back to the one where my post editor was (though this could also mean that FireFox makes the editor freeze), or am i just doing something i shouldn

Mike
Apologies to anyone who encountered a database error when trying to view the forum index page. chopin reshuffled our databases a bit and was not aware that act would break a small piece of code. It's all fixed now.
Tuskle
No problems detected, when i was expecting the editor to freeze again. Cool!
chopin
Thanks for addressing this Mike. I think we are all sorted out now.
James H.
Thread recycling. http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/why-disonnance-bad-argh-20987.html#post306863 I was just editing my post in that thread and right as I clicked the "Save" button, I realised it didn't say "Save" at all. It said "Vote now." ... I have NO idea how that could get mixed up, but it threw me for a loop and I figured I would report it in case other people run across these littles mix-ups and don't bother to speak up. There wasn't a poll in the thread, and I couldn't tell you the last time I visited a poll. Edit: just happened again in another thread. Same thing. Odd. HeckelphoneNYC
Weird indeed. I got something a few minutes ago that got me scared. It said: 3:34 am: You have been permanently banned from the shoutbox for the following reason: I am wondering..... plus it was only 12:34 am my time. And when I logged back in a minute later, it had the shoutbox completely open for me to say something...

SYS65
uuuuu there're some "spirits" around here ..... Maybe some "clean up" should be performed, .... delete some useless old threads, .... in Electronic are several named just "deleted" with no content ... and very old.... how needs that ? .... nobody .... Others very small with 1 or 0 replies, .... and very old too.... what do you think, ...? .... of course , that won't fix the error described above
James H.
You shouldn't be seeing threads called "Deleted" in their title, at least as far as I know. How old are we talking? Were you surfing back through the pages?
SYS65
Electronic Page 8 http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/deleted-17950.html http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/deleted-17216.html http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/deleted-17599.html I saw those ones one day I was sniffing around, a month ago... But not only those, but others that "we not longer need" http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/gurrelieder-berg-18203.html 0 Replies http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/free-composition-web-app-re-launched-18279.html 0 Replies all those are very old.... Also, there are too many "inactive" members, others with 0 posts, ..... those ones with 0 posts should be deleted no ? ....(unless thiy are new and they don't post yet), but if it's says "created on 2007" and have never posted anything, it is obvious that those member don't plan to come back, in that case, an e-mail notification could be sent.... All those are suggestions of course, I don't want to dismiss anybody.
Mike
It isn't really necessary to perform clean-up - the site will not gain any noticeable performance or stability improvements in the absence of clutter. I really can't begin to account for the strange issues being reported in this thread as of late. Maybe it's something kooky happening at the level of the ISP as opposed to YC... James H.
Could be a cache problem on my end - who knows. Just seemed like a weird thing to get mixed up. I just happened recently with the vB Pager, too. Always something to do with the polls, like "Send" becomes "Vote Now" I've always wanted to sweep by and delete all those user accounts with 0 posts and last login over a year ago. If anything, some of them are hogging up good usernames! I know it wouldn't really do any good, but I'm a neat-freak about clutter sometimes (just ... ignore my bedroom :musicwhistle:)

Morivou
I think someone attempted to hack the site, there really is no other explanation. What could they possibly gain from doing that? Everything here is free to download/change! And, did they succeed at getting through the system? If so, is there a way to find out what they did if anything? chopin
A main file (called an include file) was victim of a code injection. The person who did this possibly didn't even realize he hit YC (he could have targeted sites with certain criteria), so the chances of it happening again are small. It is possible many websites were the target to this attack, and for those sites that were vulnerable and did not take action, the attacker now has access to free information. There is valuable information on every interactive website, from emails (for spammers), to financial information (if stored). This is why it is important to always keep up to date on various internet software.
Morivou
I have had problems editing my Wiki Profile. Reason? Couldn't tell ya... Whenever I try to edit it, it says: "Sorry! We could not process your edit due to a loss of session data. Please try again. If it still doesn't work, try logging out and logging back in." I logged out and logged back in... that did not work. ALSO, some people have had trouble uploading works. Myself included. Any idea why?
OmarSanchez
mhmm. I get the same error on the wiki.
HeckelphoneNYC
This is odd: On a thread, for a second, while it was loading, instead of saying "post reply" it had Kamen's avatar
chopin
If this is a server problem, uploads should work in no time. About the wiki problem, I really don't know. I had no problems editing. I might have to kill the wiki bridge if the problem persists.
