  1. This was my submission for the 2020 Summer competition. I've never written a fantasia or any type of free form piece (at least with this genre of music), and felt like this piece in our world context would fit that with how I wanted to present the music. I had a main theme that would be viciously stuck in my head after waking up each morning, the days were a blur with my personal life and job and sanity. I wanted to do variations on that theme, intertwined with other fleeting themes that I thought of as this: A | A B C D | A A A | B C A | E (ABC) | AB C D A is the main theme, B is a harmony figure under a static note, C is a short major tonality theme, D is the closing section, and E is the new piano harmony.
  2. This piece here, despite the timing and the name of the piece, has nothing to do with the solar Eclipse this year. This piece was actually written back in 2012, and I've recently remastered it. It was wrote back when I was still very much into the ponies, and was actually inspired by Luna. The intro is meant to be grand, and fade into a sense of regalness while still keeping a dark undertone, signifying Luna's dark past. This piece starts off in f# minor, and then hits a mood change and goes to A Major in measure 82 until the last segment of the piece which is a modified version of the melody used from the center. This will be track number 8 on "Dust of the Past" when it is released.
  3. Here is a piece for string quintet that I finished the other day. It is about gloaming, or twilight, and it is my mother's favorite time of day. Let me know your thoughts -- I'm sure I'll have revisions at some point in the future. Enjoy!
  4. So I wrote a string quintet piece. I'm not sure yet whether or not I will add more movements to it, but for now I wanted to get some feedback as I've put a lot of effort and time into it. I'm fairly new to composing in the stricter sense (completing pieces, applying music theory, fully notating works) and am still learning. I began work on this piece a little over a month ago when I was at a strings camp playing Schubert's string quintet (which this piece takes a lot of influence from), and is titled "Distractions." It started as a silly, spastic tribute to my easily distracted goofy second cellist, but as I continued writing it grew more sentimental. Please be very critical! I'm serious about wanting to improve and putting effort into my compositions.
