Hello! So I am a young composer specialized in Grant Kirkhope's styled music (He is the composer of many videogame's soundtracks like Banjo-Kazooie, DK64, Goldeneye 007, and more) and I recently made my first real composition. I think it sounds pretty great, but I want some reviews of other people to know what I should improve in my next works. So here is the thing: https://soundcloud.com/user-536432605/old-factory Don't hesitate to make the more honest review you can :D

Hi everyone, I've been composing music for 3,5 years, but it was not until recently I decided to start uploading my music to the internet. I've never received any musical education, I had to educate myself. The first piece I decided to upload is the "Sonata for Viola and Orchestra". Please note, that even though it says sonata in the title, I wasn't sticking to any particular composition form. I would appreciate any feedback you can give me on both my orchestration and composition and your thoughts in general. For the story behind the piece, you can check the description of the video attached here. My idea behind this composition was as follows: The motif that represents life gets introduced in the first part of the composition in a major key (0:00-0:56). Then the piece switches to a minor key and a "loss" motif start playing by a solo viola, representing the losses during the war. After the second repetition of the motif (1:00-2:24), the life motif comes back now in a minor key representing that life has changed for the worse (2:24-3:15). The loss motif is then repeated again and the piece concludes on an unstable minor add9 chord to show the uncertainty of the situation (3:15-4:30). The piece: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4jGyzvWlmY&lc=z221wrhqgxznjvopt04t1aokgbir4xpajzdb5agsljhlrk0h00410 The score is attached here Edit: Uploaded the piece here as well. For the history behind it, you should still check the link Edit 2: Replaced the previous pdf file with the new one, since I found some mistakes (had incorrect crescendo markings around bars 10-11)

Hello everyone! :) I am new here and I am glad that I can be a part of this community. I hope we will have good times together. Anyway, I would like to share with you my latest composition which I did and I would be glad for any feedback and constructive criticism (these things push people forward) I made this composition using virtual instruments. And also there is another question. I would really like to study and learn more about composition so I've hoped that you could show me some good staff where search. Also, I am thinking about school do you think is it possible for me with almost no experience in this sphere? Thank you very much for every response CH_OverWorld_Theme_Robert_Bruckmayer.Mp3

Dreamality (2).mp3Dreamality is a combination of dreams and reality put together. Based off of the themes: "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Brahm's Lullaby", Dreamality shows the process of leaving your perfect dreamworld and settling back into the real one. Please do give me some feedback if you can, I always take every comment seriously so that I can better my compositions. Thank-you, Greg. C.

Hello everyone ! :) I kindly request you to excuse me for the disturbance, but as presently student in Master's degree in Economics & Psychology at Panthéon-Sorbonne and Paris Descartes (and I'm also a musician since my 6 years old), I'm in search of composers for an experience on feedback in music composition within the framework of my master thesis. The experiment consists in making up a short composition of 8 measures, then to suggest modifications on the composition of another participant. Then, there is the possibility to modify its own composition. In extra, there is an Xperia Sony Z3 tablet Compact to win by drawing lots for people arriving at the end of the experiment :) I shall largely be grateful to you if you agreed to participate in it and if you pass it in your concerned circle of acquaintances ! Best regards, Olivia L

Hello everyone! Chopin says you all are pretty savvy people, and that's exactly who I'm looking for! :D So please allow me to introduce myself and tell you what an great guy Chopin is (actually, you probably already know that last part):  My name is Lori and I am the Outreach Communications Specialist for StoAmigo, a personal cloud management system. We recently opened a public beta test of our product and we're giving free 5 GB StoAmigo accounts to everyone who is willing to take StoAmigo for a spin. All I ask in exchange is for any feedback you have about the system: what you like, don’t like, what you think works or doesn’t work, new ideas, etc. The account is yours to keep. You've probably heard of cloud computing before, maybe even have an account somewhere else... *ahem* BUT two of the things we're excited about at StoAmigo are our streaming quality and capabilities for music and video. Who better to offer opinions on those features than music aficionados? So even you're visiting the forum as a guest, you're welcome to give StoAmigo a try. Anyone who wants to sign up for the beta (and a free 5GB cloud storage account) can contact me at lori@stoamigo.com and I’ll send you a personal beta access code. Please mention "Young Composers" in the subject line of the email. You can also visit www.stoamigo.com if you want to find out more about us. I want to publicly thank Chopin for allowing me the opportunity to reach out to you today. I truly appreciate it. Hope to hear from you soon, and thank you in advance! Lori

Hello everyone! I'm trying to compose once again. Here is this very innocuous, exercise-like composition I made for the piano. Audio here: untitled.mp3 What I would like to ask is this. How would you describe this composition? Does it make "sense" to you, in the purely musical sense? Could it be better, perhaps? And lastly, what criticism or feedback could you give (e.g., the second to last bar has a figuration which sucks, etc.)? Anything will do, even mean comments. (P.S.: Is this the right forum to post this in?)
