  1. Sopran/Soprano: Anđela Todorović /Cello: Mateja Nikolić/Piano: Veljko Nenadić Composer: Veljko Nenadić 22.12.2018. Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, Serbia.
  2. Hi everyone! This is my first vocal/choral work to post here so far (If I don´t count a jazz song with my vocals which I´ve posted in the jazz section before). I wrote this one for strings, piano and soprano, for a talented Croatian singer Hana Huljić who also happens to be a great composer aswell. However, this is still a demo and the singer on this demo did not have any experiences with singing opera before and she is not a soprano, so it was a bit high for her, but I still love her performance very much. She´s a friend of mine and was very willing to sing the demo for Hana, I´m very thankful to her. I always loved Ave Maria songs, especially the Schubert one, and I always wanted to write one myself one day, and the day has come. Since there are so many Ave Maria already, I decided to write it for "Zdravas Mária" which is the Slovak equvivalent of the prayer. Please let me know how you like it!
  3. Hello everbody, This is my first serious choral composition, which I composed to practise counterpoint and voice leading. The piece is an Ave Maria, but the language is Dutch, which made it quite hard to compose music on. It is a hard language regarding accentuation. Amen. There is trouble with the audio in this topic, so here is the link: Nevertheless, I am pretty content with it. What do you think? Tips are welcome! Maarten
  4. Hi all, this is an ensemble piece I have written for 'Zone Experimentale' from Basel. This recording is from a concert at the Mostra Sonora festival in Valencia. Looking forward to your comments.
  5. This is the first of three vocal chamber pieces I'm working on. They're all based on and adapted from ancient Norse poems (translated into English). The Incantation of Hervor relates the story of a valiant young 'shield-maiden' (Hervor), who visits the burial mound of her father (Angantyr) to demand that he (now a ghost/wraith) give her his magic sword, which she considers her inheritance. I've never written a piece with vocals before. It was certainly a challenge to get the lyrics to match up with the music, and I had to make some minor alterations to and omissions from the original text (but the spirit of it is still there). I realize there are no slurs and not many expressive markings -- this is just a first draft. Any feedback, comments or criticism is welcome! Thanks for listening.
  6. this piece was composed a few years earlier, but remastered recently and improved the sound effect, originally, it is a vocal music with lyric, but as a result that the computer can't sing lyric, it appears now as a song without words, it is composed and orchestrated by myself, hope everyone like it.
  7. Here is another air for soprano and piano, based on a text my mother wrote (which I translated as well as I could). Again, the flute is used instead of the choral patch. Let me know what you think, and, if you know Italian, if the translation is accurate. Thanks! UPDATE: This piece has been changed and moved into an updated collection here ------>
  8. Hey guys! Some of you might be familiar with these pieces, as I composed them a while back and post three of the four previously; however, I did make some changes. I took some of the advice mentioned in the comments of the pieces -- such as adjusting the ranges, as well as changing a melisma or two -- and I feel that they are better for it. I kept the flute-piano combo for disdain of the midi choir. Let me know your thoughts on the pieces, as I'm still open to improving them if need be. P.S. I'm not sure if there is a way to delete your past uploads, e.g. the three airs I posted previously, but if there is, please let me know below.
  9. Here is a piece based upon earlier motifs I had written long ago. I composed the lyrics, as well as translated them into Italian as best as I know (I think they're pretty close, if not let me know). Instead of the terrible midi choir I have, I utilized the flute voice, as it not only sounds better, but it can actually sound some of the piece's notes (the choral patch cannot hit the higher notes for some reason). I wrote this piece for a friend of mine who is an operatic soprano (she is able to hit the higher notes written). Let me know what you think! UPDATE: This piece has been changed and moved into an updated collection here ------>
  10. Opus 9, Madrigal no 1, written for SSATB(lyrics : Bright Star by John Keats). Full album cover and more music available here : https://www.reverbnation.com/mademoisellelilaclucrezia Opus 9.mp3
  11. Hi, everyone: This is my first composition in vocal music and the lyric is written by me. This song is recorded by sibelius. Any suggestion is welcome, especially the solo cello part. I do not familiar with cello ,so I do not sure those cords can or can not be played by single player. Hope you can enjoy it!Encounter Love .mp3Encounter Love .pdf
  12. Here is another air for soprano and piano. Once again, the soprano voice is played by a flute (as both the range of the actual midi soprano has a more limited range and it sounds worse.) I also have the piano played by strings, as I think it sounds better. Let me know what you think! UPDATE: This piece has been changed and moved into an updated collection here ------>
